Howcroft Branded Solutions:

DTF Transfer Printing

DTF Printing is one of the latest advancements in garment printing technology.

Similar to high end direct to garment printing (DTG printing) Howcroft's industrial printer is used to print the design, first printing the colour layer on to a heat transfer film, then print the white layer where needed on top of that. The transfer film is then passed through a dedicated adhesive applicator and finally an oven to cure the prints.

The end result is a transfer ready to apply.

Ten advantages of using Howcroft Direct-to-Film (DTF) printing,

instead of embroidery:

1. Cost-Effective:

DTF printing is more cost effective than embroidery

2. Faster Production Time:

DTF printing has quicker turnaround times as it skips the labour-intensive stitching process

3. Unlimited Colour Options:

Unlike embroidery, which can be limited by thread colour DTF printing allows for an unlimited colour palette and gradients.

4. Smooth Surface Finish:

DTF prints have a flat, smooth surface without the raised texture of embroidery, providing a more modern and sleek appearance.

5. Fine Detail Reproduction:

DTF printing excels in capturing fine details and small text that can be difficult to achieve with embroidery.

6. Lightweight Feel:

DTF prints are less bulky compared to embroidery, resulting in lighter and more comfortable garments, especially important for items like t-shirts and polos which are close to the skin.

7. No Fabric Distortion:

Embroidery can sometimes distort the fabric due to the tension of the stitches, while DTF printing maintains the integrity and shape of the original fabric.

8. Durability:

High-quality DTF prints are durable and withstand multiple washes without the risk of threads unravelling or colours fading, ensuring long-lasting promotional items.

9. Photo-Realistic Images:

DTF printing can produce photo-realistic images, making it ideal for printing detailed photos and complex artwork that embroidery cannot replicate

10. Greater Design Flexibility:

DTF printing allows for a broader range of design placements, which can be challenging for embroidery
